2016, Oh Baby!

Hello Leander Dean Vogel!

Born weighing 9 lbs 10 oz and 20.75 inches long.

This is one of the best years of our lives. It started in January with my birthday. We celebrated the New Year and little did we know the gift of the new year would give us another gift later on.

By February we’re celebrating the Superbowl but something is different. I knew I had been feeling funny and had an inkling of an idea and knew that something big was coming our way. That night I ended up going to the E.R. (normal clinics were closed) because I had a UTI. It was the first time we got to see our little peanut. It was overwhelming in the best ways possible. We waited to share the news just a little bit longer.

Riley and Basil were so excited that they were going to have a little brother or sister. It

wasn’t until closer to Riley’s birthday that we found out our little peanut was a Boy! We spent months deciding on a name: Leander Dean Vogel. And, it was perfect. Being a first-time mom I was very impressed with how my pregnancy was going. I was in love with all sorts of fruits and vegetables that it was hard not to eat healthily! I passed the gross Glucose Tolerance test and aced my blood work. This was going to be a breeze compared to all the other stories I’ve heard about pregnancy. Until the end, the misery and the waiting for Leander to finally come out. Then the day came, right in the middle of walking around the Rice Craft Fair by The Creamery. 36 hours of labor and our little peanut joined our family on the outside and it was wonderful!

Everyone was so excited to meet him, most of all me who had been feeling every kick and punch and hiccup for months. It truly was love at first sight.

Riley and Basil have been loving their new schools even into this year. They are learning foreign languages, more interesting math and made so many new friends. They are going to accomplish so many great things when they get older.

Celebrating 4 Years Married!

Even though we’ve made some big changes this last 4 years, we’re still here together going through it all. What I love the most is that no matter how difficult things seem to be, we always pull through. Even the little fights and disagreements don’t hold our love back. We will always persevere!
